objectives:

The objective of this project is to implement a pilot AIRS, on a small-scale for a limited period of time, to test its technical and financial feasibility and use, and identify key improvements needed, prior to scaling-up nationwide. This pilot project would "road-test" an improved AIRS system in Mongolia, which is essential to promote exports of livestock and livestock products. 

EXPECTED OUTPUTS/DELIVERABLES:

Under the overall guidance and responsibility of the FAO representative and the technical guidance of the national coordinator incumbent will undertake the following activities:

  1. Providing the national coordinator with technical advice for tag specifications, field procedures and training program.
  2. Implementing training program for the pilot soum and aimags
  3. Supporting the persons involved in the pilot implementation
  4. Reporting monthly about the progress of pilot implementation in the aimag
  5. Work closely with selected pilot aimag’s stakeholders to implement project
  6. Manage and control supplied animal identification equipment such as ear tag, bar code reader, mobile device and ear tag applicator
  7. Cooperate with the selected slaughter houses and meat processing factories
  8. Performs duty as required

Qualification.

  • University level degree in Animal breeding, Animal Livestock husbandry and Production 
  • Native Mongolian and writing skills in English preferable
  • Working experience in field operations for animal identification or for prophylaxis
  • Good planning and organizing skill
  • Good risk management skill and ability to prevent risk
  • Submit and reconcile expense reports
  • Ability to develop training materials and do training sessions
  • Interest to work with IT systems and cooperate with the testing
  • Previous work experience in international project will be advantage
  • Have to be resident of Uvurkhangai aimag, and able to work in multiple locations
